Update #031 - Batch 1 On Its Way

TL;DR

  • Batch 1 has left the factory on schedule and is on its way to our warehouse
  • Arrival is expected at the end of March
  • Most Batch 1 deliveries should still make the March delivery window
  • We received a full production unit at our office and photographed it in detail
  • Batch 2 will arrive approximately one month later to allow full testing
  • We’re still looking for European content creators

Hi everyone,

This is a milestone update.

Batch 1 of Vext 2.0 has officially left the factory on schedule and is currently on its way to our warehouse. It is expected to arrive at the end of March. From there, customer deliveries will begin, and most Batch 1 units should still make the March delivery window as planned.

We’re also sharing new photos, both from the factory and from the production unit now at our office.

Leaving the factory

Below you’ll see units and spare parts packed into a container, secured and ready for shipment. Seeing the cabinets prepared for transport makes the progress very real. Months of design and refinement are now moving into reality.

Production pod holders

The pod holders are made from TPE, a food-safe material that is durable, flexible, and easy to clean.

Each holder includes a small integrated cup at the base. This serves two purposes.

At first, it lets water collect briefly when soaking pods after placement. Second, it provides small plants with a bit of additional water during the earliest stage of growth, when consistency matters most.

The holders snap securely into the plant wall, creating a precise and clean interface between plant, mist, and structure. This detail may seem small, but it reflects how Vext is designed as a complete system rather than a collection of parts.

Hands on with a production unit

We also received a full production cabinet at our office. This is not a prototype. It is built using the same manufacturing processes and finishes as the units now on their way to our warehouse.

We brought it into a studio to document the final version properly and to review it in detail.

The adjustable feet, where the power connection and antenna are integrated discreetly into the base. Functional elements are resolved in a way that keeps the overall form quiet and intentional.

Finally, we photographed the fog system in action. Below you see the fog flowing gently through the pod holders, you are seeing the core of Vext’s growing method at work: nutrient-rich fog delivered directly to the roots.

Behind the scenes...

Each pod closes its opening, directing the fog to the roots. As it absorbs moisture, it settles into place and creates a natural seal.

Having a finished production unit in hand allowed us to review material finishes, alignment, tolerances, and overall presence with care. It feels solid, precise, and ready for the homes it’s about to enter.

Batch 2 timeline

Batch 2 will arrive approximately one month later than originally planned.

We understand that waiting longer is disappointing, especially when you’ve been looking forward to your cabinet. The delay comes down to testing. The factory did not have enough time to fully test every unit before their holiday period.

Rather than compressing that process or rushing units out the door, we chose to allow the time needed to complete testing properly. We will not ship cabinets that have not been thoroughly verified.

This adds a delay to Batch 2, but it ensures that when your Vext arrives, it does so ready to perform as intended from day one.

Looking for creators

As the first production units reach homes, we are continuing to look for European content creators interested in collaborating.

We are particularly interested in cooking, healthy food, and health, but we’re open to thoughtful ideas from other categories as well.

If you’re interested, or know someone who might be a good fit, please reach out to katja@vext.fi with a short introduction and links to your main channels.

Batch 1 is now on its way. The next update will come once the units arrive at the warehouse and deliveries begin.

Thank you for your patience and trust. We’re very close now.
