How 27 plants
grow with mist.

Vext grows plants without soil. The roots hang behind a vertical wall. A fine mist drifts down through them, carrying water, nutrients, and oxygen at the same time. The cabinet handles the watering, the lighting, and the airflow. You handle the cooking.

Why plants in Vext grow faster.

Plants need three things at their roots to grow: water, nutrients, and oxygen. Most growing methods give them one or two at a time. Vext uses fogponics, which gives them all three at once.

In soil, roots flood when you water and breathe in between. In hydroponics, they sit submerged in water, which limits oxygen and invites root rot. In Vext, the roots hang in air. A fine mist of water and dissolved nutrients drifts past them periodically. The roots get oxygen all the time because the roots are never submerged in water.

That is why plants grow faster in Vext than in soil, and why Vext uses up to 95% less water than growing in soil. What the roots do not absorb cycles back to the tank and gets used again. Nothing is wasted.

The basepod and nutrient storage
Inside the base

The base

The base holds the 24-litre water tank, the nutrient bottles, the pumps, and the storage area for spare pods. Two quiet fans pull room air in through a filter at the bottom and push it up into the cabinet to keep airflow steady around the leaves.

Behind the wall

The root zone

At the front, a removable plant wall held by magnets holds 27 pods in a 9-by-3 grid. Behind it, the roots hang freely while the fogger mists water and nutrients down through them continuously. What the roots do not absorb returns to the tank.

The plants

The canopy

The space where everything grows, framed by tinted glass with light bars running up the front corners. Air flows in from the base and out through the top, keeping conditions steady. The tint softens the light to your room. The plants stay visible from outside. Open the door from the front to harvest.

What Vext takes care of.

Light

Two LED bars running up the front corners. Each combines warm white and cool white LEDs, dimmable independently. 80 watts total. The cabinet sets brightness, color mix, and timing.

Water and mist

The fogger runs on a cycle the cabinet adjusts in real time. You refill the 24-litre tank every 2 to 4 weeks. The cabinet handles every drop after that.

Nutrients

Two pumps dose Grow and Bloom formulas into the tank automatically. The bottles last about four months. No measuring, no pH testing, no EC meters.

Airflow

Two quiet fans run constantly and slowly. They keep fresh air moving around the canopy, strengthen the plants the way wind does outdoors, prevent mold, and cool the lights.

The cabinet has sensors for water level, temperature, humidity, fan speed, power use, and whether the door is open. When something is off, the app tells you what and what to do about it. The cabinet flags issues before they reach your plants.

Vext app screen, cabinet health and tasks

Live from your cabinet.

The app pairs with your Vext over Wi-Fi and shows you everything the cabinet is doing. You see how much water is left, how the plants are doing, when each one will be ready to harvest, and what needs your attention. The cabinet does the growing. The app tells the story.

Water level, nutrient level, temperature, humidity, and a plant health score that gives you a single read on how things are going. Predicted refill dates so you know what is coming.

The app tells you when something needs doing. A water refill, a pod swap, a clean. You get a notification when it is time and a task to follow. No daily check-ins, no guessing.

Track every pod from sprout to harvest. Each plant comes with guidance on when it sprouts, when it is ready to harvest, how long it keeps producing, and how to trim and harvest it correctly.

Set a daily light schedule that fits your routine. If you want less light during dinner or a film, dim them from the app. Vext returns to the correct levels the next morning automatically.

What to expect

How much work is it?

Not hands-free, but close to it. Here is what the upkeep actually looks like.

Cut leaves and herbs as they are ready. Trim plants that get too tall. Pick off yellowing leaves. Most leafy greens give three to five harvests from one pod.

Refill the 24-litre water tank in the base of the cabinet. The app reminds you with a task and notification.

Replace the two nutrient bottles, and swap out any spent pods. Vext+ ships both to you automatically.

Clean the water tank and root chamber. A quick clean alternates with a deep clean. The app creates the task and tells you which is due.

On the plants

First leaves appear within a week of planting a pod. Most plants are ready for first harvest in four to six weeks. After that, they regrow over weeks and keep producing for months.

No daily routine. No green thumb required.
