Update #032 - Batch 1 Has Reached Europe
Share
TL;DR
- Batch 1 has arrived at port in the Netherlands. Deliveries will happen end of April rather than mid-month as previously communicated.
- Batch 2 is expected at our warehouse before the end of April, shipping start of May
- Batch 3 manufacturing starting shortly, targeting July instead of June due to parts availability
- We are starting the Test Kitchen, early access to new features in exchange for honest feedback
- Christian flew out to visit our warehouse in the Netherlands
Hi everyone,
Batch 1 is in Europe. After everything it took to get here, that sentence feels good to write.
For the customers who have been with us since the beginning, this moment has been a long time coming. The cabinet you ordered is now sitting at port in the Netherlands, and it will be in your home soon. Thank you for waiting. We know it has not always been easy.
Batch 1 - Clearing import
We know some of you have been counting down to the 13-17 April window. Customs clearance is taking a little longer than we planned, which means deliveries will happen towards the end of April rather than mid-month. Not the news we wanted to share, but we would rather tell you clearly than let the date pass without a word.
We will update you as soon as units are on their way to the warehouse.
Batch 2 - End of April
Batch 2 is on track. We are still expecting units to arrive at our warehouse before the end of April, and shipping out start of May, in line with what we said last update.
You have waited a long time for this too. We will confirm delivery timing as soon as units arrive and we have a clear picture of when your cabinet leaves us.
Batch 3 - A small timing update
Batch 3 is about to go into manufacturing, and we want to flag one thing early.
A parts shortage means the original June delivery window may shift slightly. We are working to resolve it and we are hopeful that Batch 3 will arrive no later than July.
We know that is not what you were hoping to read. We would rather tell you now, honestly and with as much notice as possible, than come back with a last-minute update when it is harder to plan around. We will share more specifics as manufacturing progresses.
Introducing the Test Kitchen
As the product matures, we want to develop new features in closer collaboration with a small group of dedicated customers.
We are opening up the Test Kitchen. People in the Test Kitchen get new app updates and cabinet features before they reach everyone else. In return, we are looking for people who are genuinely curious, willing to share honest feedback, and comfortable trying things that are not quite finished yet.
If that sounds like you, send a short note to support@vext.fi telling us a little about yourself and why you would like to be part of it. We will start very small.
Christian in the Netherlands
Christian flew out to visit our 3PL in the Netherlands last week, the team handling warehousing and fulfilment for all European orders.

The warehouse runs 14 metres floor to ceiling. There is plenty of room for Vext 2.0.

Seeing the warehouse in person, meeting the team, and understanding exactly how your cabinet moves through its last leg before reaching your door felt important to do before the first units arrive. These are the people handling something we spent years building. We wanted to know them.
Thank you, genuinely, for the patience you have shown. We are almost there.
Christian
