TL;DR
- Batch 3 is in production at the factory now
- Batch 3 cabinets ship in October or November
- Batch 1 and Batch 2 cabinets arrived in homes in May
- Batch 3 has improvements based on batch 1 and 2
- The software has improved significantly, and will continue to.
Hi everyone,
Batch 3 is in production. It's the news many of you have been waiting for, so I'm happy to share that.
Your cabinet is being made
The factory is making parts for your Batch 3 cabinet now, including the improvements we've made which I'll write about more below.
Batch 3 cabinets ship in October or November. The exact date depends on every step: parts, assembly, testing, and shipping across the sea. We will keep the timeline updated as production continues.
Batch 1 and Batch 2 arrived in May
Batch 1 and Batch 2 cabinets arrived in homes across Europe in May. Since then you cooked with them, sent us photos, and told us what worked and what did not.
Three months of real use in real kitchens taught us a lot, and continues to do so.

Six improvements in Batch 3
Many of these came up in the Facebook group. Almost all of them are about consistency. The design did not change. We made sure that every cabinet matches it.
Side glass. In Batch 1 and Batch 2, the assembly tolerances were sometimes off, so the glass did not sit correctly. The fit is consistent now.
Foam strips. The strips are now straight and in the same position on every cabinet.
Electronics mounting. In earlier cabinets the mount could move or become loose. The new mount stays in place.
Pod holders. The new pod holders use a different material. Less residue collects on them, so they stay cleaner and there is much less chance of unwanted growth. Most people never see this problem, but now it is even less likely.
Sensor connectors. Sometimes the small connectors were poorly soldered, which caused issues during assembly. This should be much rarer now.
Packaging. A slightly revised box protects your cabinet better and is a little nicer to open. It is also smaller, which lowers the cost of shipping a little.
If you have a Batch 1 or Batch 2 cabinet and you had issues with your pod holders, you will be able to replace them. The new pod holders arrive in the stock when Batch 3 arrives. Once we know the exact cost of the new holders we'll see what options we can offer for existing owners for replacement.
None of these six improvements change how things work. They are mainly there to increase consistency.
Improved software
Most of the improvement since May happened inside the cabinet. The cabinet software takes care of the plants. It works much better now, and keeps getting better.
Water is the clearest example. Early cabinets gave plants more water than they needed. We improved it recently, and are sending out another improvement in the coming weeks. Batch 1 and 2 owners tell us their plants look healthier since the change.
Your Batch 3 cabinet will arrive with every improvement we made since May and will automatically update to the latest version as soon as you have set it up.
We understand these cabinets much better now
We had Vext 1.0 cabinets in homes in 2024. Vext 2.0 is a different cabinet, with more than 30 upgrades, and far more of them now sit in homes across Europe.
That scale changes what we see. Rare problems appear only when many people use a product in many different homes.
When you write to us about a plant that grows slowly, or a part you are unsure about, we usually know the answer already. Someone asked the same question before, and we know what solved it.
We are now working on bringing that information to our help center, and giving the cabinet the ability to detect issues, and inform about them.
Thank you for waiting. The next update comes when Batch 3 leaves the factory.
