Update #028 - Important Delivery Decision Ahead + Final Prototype News

TL;DR

• Final Vext 2.0 prototype is ready next week — Mikael is flying to our factory to verify it before regulatory checks.
• We’ve welcomed Katja as our new Growth & Marketing Lead (ex-Shook Digital).
• Batch 2 is almost sold out (only ~10% left) ahead of next week’s Black Friday sale.
• Delivery timing: Batch 1 (end of Jan) and Batch 2 (March) are now produced almost at the same time, but not as one batch — we've asked batch 1 for feedback on combining them.
• Starter plant set is nearly finalized — 27 pods across salads, cooking greens, herbs, and fruiting plants.
• Lots of exciting progress as we move toward production and prepare for launch.

We hope you’re having a cozy November. We wanted to share a few exciting updates as we move closer to Vext 2.0 shipping out into the world.

🌿 Final Prototype Next Week and a Factory Visit

The final Vext 2.0 prototype will be ready next week. To make sure everything is perfect, Mikael is flying to our factory to personally verify the prototype before it goes into regulatory checks.

While there, he’ll also review our quality control processes in detail and spend time strengthening our relationships with the suppliers who help bring Vext to life. Quality and long-term reliability are a huge priority for us, so this part really matters.

We’re excited to share that our team has grown!

Katja has joined Vext as our Marketing & Growth Lead. She previously worked at Shook Digital and brings an incredible mix of creativity, performance-driven thinking, and warmth. You’ll definitely see her influence across our upcoming campaigns.

📦 Delivery Timing, We Need Your Input

This part is especially important, and we want to hear batch 1s honest input.

Because our earliest delivery shifted slightly into January, the current difference between Batch 1 and Batch 2 delivery is quite small:

 • Batch 1: Late January
 • Batch 2: March

Our manufacturing partner suggested that we combine the two batches.

Here's why:
Since factories in China close for most of February, both batches would be produced almost at the same time anyway, but currently they are still treated as two separate orders.

And while combining them would move all deliveries to March, it would also bring meaningful benefits:

✔ Substantial cost savings

Larger production runs unlock efficiencies we otherwise miss, we'd love to pass on these savings to our customers through a small gift.

✔ Simpler production, fewer transitions, fewer risks

This typically reduces potential errors and speeds up internal processes for our factory.

✔ Higher quality

With larger runs, more steps can be automated and optimized — and in hardware manufacturing, automation almost always raises consistency and quality.

Given these advantages, combining the batches is a strong option.
However, we also know that some of you are very excited to get your Vext as soon as possible — and we deeply respect that.

So we want to hear from everyone in batch 1, would you prefer that we:

 1. Keep the batches separate so Batch 1 customers receive their units a bit earlier (late January),

or

 2. Combine the batches, move all deliveries to March, and as a thank-you to early supporters, include a free extra pod pack for all batch 1 orders?

Batch 2 is now 90% sold out.

With our Black Friday sale next week, the remaining units will likely go quickly. If friends or family have shown interest, this is the moment to nudge them.
