Our Story

How It All Began

A few years ago, our CEO, Christian, experienced a familiar frustration: store-bought greens spoiled too quickly and never delivered the freshness and quality you deserve. At the same time, growing your own food was messy and complicated—a challenge that left many of us feeling overwhelmed.

Determined to change this, Christian set out on a mission: to create an indoor garden that would transform the way you experience fresh food. He explored existing solutions and discovered that most smart gardens were either clunky, DIY-looking gadgets or offered only moderate results. What they lacked was a commitment to quality and simplicity—a product that truly listened to its users.

Realizing he needed a team that shared his vision, Christian joined forces with his childhood friends, Niklas and Vincent. Together, they set out to create Vext—a smart, elegant solution that empowers you to enjoy fresh, nutritious greens with minimal effort.

Development Phase

Every step of our development was driven by one question: How can we make growing food at home effortless and beautiful for you?

The first prototype, built in early 2023 at our office, it was our first step toward transforming indoor gardening.

The third prototype actually worked! It taught us valuable lessons, even if the quality wasn’t yet up to our high standards.

Soft Launch

In October 2023, we unveiled our concept at the Wine & Food Fair in Helsinki. Amid thousands of attendees, we showcased our prototypes and engaged in hundreds of conversations. The event was intense but immensely rewarding. It generated significant interest, valuable feedback, and even our first pre-orders, telling us that people were ready for a fresh approach to growing greens at home.

Vext 1.0 Shipped!

In the fall of 2024, a major milestone was reached: the first batch of Vext 1.0 was shipped to our customers. Seeing Vext in real homes was both humbling and inspiring, it showed us that the future of food production might actually be hyper-local.

The Road Ahead: Vext 2.0

Building on our early success, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve raised the funding needed to bring Vext 2.0 to life. Our next-generation design promises premium quality, effortless care, and innovative features—all grounded in our core values of Well-Being, Simplicity, Quality, and Sustainability.

What’s coming next?

  • Q2 2025: Final design and key features of Vext 2.0 will be unveiled.

  • Q4 2025: The first batch of Vext 2.0 units will ship to customers.
